Welcome to Season 2022

Hello and welcome to the Birregurra Football Netball Club for the 2022 season.

Are you new to Birregurra or the surrounding district? Call in to the rec reserve and say hi. New players and members are most welcome!

The 2022 CDFNL season will bring with it new hope and energy, rebounding from a disrupted year to forget. The BFNC is working tirelessly to prepare for a new season, including transition to a new centralised administration portal, Play HQ. All players and officials will be required to access this online platform for 2022 registrations.

The Birregurra Recreation Reserve Committee is doing a fantastic job in maintaining the oval surface via a revised management program to ensure it is fit for purpose for the cricket and football seasons.

The new lighting upgrade project is now underway including the appointment of a lead contractor with trenching and electrical works in train. Accessing important infrastructure components is presenting some challenges but sub groundwork will continue, aiming to switch on the new lights ASAP.

The ‘Dames or Knights of the Lights’ fundraising initiative is active, please donate if you can. This initiative will also form the foundation of fundraising for our new social/ change rooms. All donations are 100% tax deductible. http://asf.org.au/projects/birregurra-football-netball-club/

Running a sporting club is not unlike managing a small organisation, including people and culture, OHS, admin, finance, rosters, compliance, 300 participants, 400 members, 120 sponsors, community partners etc.

A non-exhaustive list of club tasks roles, including committee, registrations, membership, sponsorship, game day planning, media, first aid/ sports trainers, canteen, goal/ central umpires, tribunal, league meetings, officials, auditing, contracts, record keeping, rubbish collection and disposal, purchasing, gate attendance, laundry, bar duties, liquor licencing, coaches, team managers, maintenance, water carriers, runners, cleaning, junior coordinator, club delegates, treasurer, secretary, clearance secretary, fund raising, social club, merchandise, Working with Children Officer, grant applications, etc.

Sounds exhausting? It doesn’t have to be. If these tasks are shared it significantly relieves volunteer burden and greatly enhances the overall club experience. We all have families, competing priorities, vocations, social lives, value our downtime and seek to optimise a work/ life balance.

You do have the time, you do have the skills, you most certainly have the motivation and a responsibility to support the people that support you and invest in the growth and development of our proud community club. Please ensure you jump onboard in 2022 and do your bit for the BFNC.

Looking forward to the season ahead, keep your eye on our socials for key events and announcements, in the meantime, ‘all for one and one for all, the way we are at Birre’.
